A monthly production record, captured commodity by commodity.
Agriculture runs on cycles. Most agri-SMEs do not have a structured record of those cycles. Mothusi captures monthly actuals against the plan, broken out commodity by commodity, so the production reality of the farm is visible all year and not reconstructed at year-end.
One of thirteen workflows in the Agriculture layer. All connected to the same growth record.
Why it exists, and how it operates.
Each operator starts the season with a planned cycle per commodity: planting dates, livestock intake, input applications, expected yields, harvest windows, processing, storage, and delivery schedules.
Every month the operator updates actuals against the plan for each commodity: input applications, observed pest or disease, livestock movements, yield records, post-harvest losses, storage utilisation, and cash position. Mothusi prompts the update so the record is never reconstructed from memory.
At season close, the monthly record becomes the basis for next-season planning, cash-flow forecasting, and finance applications. Year-on-year trends per commodity emerge naturally.
How it works in the field.
- 01
Cycle planning baseline per commodity
Operator and Mothusi build the planned cycle for each commodity: planting, inputs, harvest, delivery.
Mothusi AI - 02
Monthly check-in per commodity
Mothusi prompts the operator each month to update actuals per commodity. Quick, conversational, never reconstructed at year-end.
Mothusi AI - 03
Input applications logged
Fertiliser, seed, feed, veterinary, irrigation captured against the plan, by commodity and by month.
Production record - 04
Harvest yields recorded
Actual vs expected yield by commodity, block, batch, or stocking.
Production record - 05
Post-harvest losses tracked
Storage loss, spoilage, mortality, transport loss logged against expected baseline.
Production record - 06
Season closeout
Plan vs actuals per commodity, lessons captured, year-on-year trend visible, next season baseline pre-populated.
Growth record
What this workflow produces.
Each item below is a structured artefact written to the operator's growth record. Programme officers, funders, buyers, and the operator themselves can read and act on every one.
- Monthly production record per commodity
- Cycle plan with expected timing and yield
- Input application log
- Yield record (expected vs actual)
- Post-harvest loss register
- Storage and delivery schedule
- Year-on-year trend per commodity
- Season-end cash position and forecast
Different audiences. Same workflow output.
| Audience | Value delivered |
|---|---|
| Farmers | A structured record that does not depend on remembering things. |
| Funders | Production cash-flow visibility before repayment becomes a question. |
| Programmes | Cohort yield and loss patterns to target interventions. |
| Insurers | Production loss baselines that support claim assessment. |
Deploy this workflow in your agri-programme.
Whether your programme runs farmer development, vet dispatch, offtake-backed lending, or processor support, this workflow plugs into your existing operations and feeds the same growth record as every other Mothusi capability.
From business support to measurable enterprise development. Across sectors, countries, and real operating environments.
